Sunny Day, Nice Walk!
My first urban Photowalk, but it was a bit of a cop-out as I concentrated on Historic sites and subjects... It was areally hot, sunny day with an almost cloudless sky, spoiling what could have been some great vistas. I will return!

Portsmouth, especially the areas between the Historic Dockyard and Old Portsmouth. I could spend all day in the Dockyard - HMS Victory is such a fantastic subject, with plenty of technical details to macro, or the whole scene for a Panorama.
Head up to the Guildhall for a great building, and there's a nice War Memorial next to it. Over into Old Portsmouth and you can walk along to Southsea, with some great views of the Solent and the old fortifications. If you're into big ferries they're in and out of the harbour every few minutes, and if you go to the round tower (which is right on the edge of the harbor) you'll get some great shots.
These historic sites would have been great for dramatic HDR's, with stormy looking sky's, but alas it was too nice a day. Next time!

Another Panorama, spoiled by a bland sky and the banding that crept in with my filtering... |

This shot sums up my day - great subjects that I had to shoot up at. Unfortunately the bright sky with few clouds meant that it was hard to get detail in the sky and foreground - so it was the return of the heavy vignette! |

When the skies too bright, leave it out! These brightly coloured houses attracted my eye in Old Portsmouth. |
This Photowalk was almost like a reconnaissance mission, I took almost 200 frames, but of course I've only shown your four. I need to return either early morning or late evening, or on a day with some good overcast clouds. I can't wait!
